Have you missed us? Because we have missed you!
Thank you to all the people who helped us search far and wide for a new home. It was difficult trying to find a venue that would value our service and be completely accessible too. So we appreciate your patience and understanding tremendously.
The good news is that we have found a new home! Starting Tuesday August 30th from 7pm to 9pm we will be at Massawa Cafe & Bistro located on 10153 – 97 Street NW
The owner welcomed us with open arms like we were family. There are so many positive to this transition that I (Ahmed Knowmadic) am having difficulty trying to compose myself. The venue is transit accessible, physically accessible, and guess what? It’s ALL AGES!! This is huge for the poetry community. Now we can welcome all the youth poets who want to be part of our community!
To top it all off. It is an Eritrean owned family business that has a deliciously accessible menu. It also servers tea, coffee and alcoholic beverages. Let’s please show them how grateful we are
that they are willing to welcome us with no strings attached. I want to demonstrate the power of art by breathing life into this venue and making it extremely successful.
Please notice the time change. It will be from 7pm to 9pm to accommodate everyone who has an early start in the morning.
